I'm a boy that's fond of a midnight lark, Some folks call me a bright young spark; The reason is my deeds are dark, And they call me the midnight ranger! So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Who’s coming out for a jolly good spree? So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Stand up and come with me! Rollicking about on a starlit night, Tickling the girls is my soul's delight, I'm going to be married to the "Woman in White," And I really believe she's an angel. So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Who’s coming out for a jolly good spree? So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Stand up and come with me! Shouting and bawling with might and main, Wetting our gills with bright champagne; I never have a loss, it's always gain, I find, for the midnight ranger. So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Who’s coming out for a jolly good spree? So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Stand up and come with me! Each friend I have is a bright young spark, And good for a spree, when the night is dark; Our howling makes the watch dogs bark, And we laugh to scorn all danger. So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Who’s coming out for a jolly good spree? So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Stand up and come with me! So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Who’s coming out for a jolly good spree? So who’s coming out for a midnight ramble? Stand up and come with me!

I lost my eyes in a blacksmith shop in the year of 56 Working on a revolver in need of a fix It bounced from the tongs and there concealed my doom I am a blind fiddler and far away from home I’ve been to San Francisco, I’ve been to doctor Lane He operated on one of my eyes but nothing could he gain He told me that I’d never see and it’s no use to Mourn I am a blind fiddler and far away from home I have a wife and three little ones that now depend on me To take care of their troubles whatever they may be And I hope that they’ll be careful whilst I’m compelled to roam Oh I am a blind fiddler and far away from home I am a blind fiddler and I’m compelled to roam

If you wake at midnight, and hear a horse's feet, Don't go drawing back the blinds, nor looking in the street Them that asks no questions, isn't told no lies.
Watch the wall, my darling, while the Gentlemen go by! Five-and-twenty ponies, trotting through the dark—
With brandy for the Parson and 'baccy for the Clerk.
Laces for a lady and letters for a spy,
Watch the wall, my darling, while the Gentlemen go by! Running round the woodlump if you chance to find
Little barrels, Roped and tarred and full of brandy-wine;
Don't you shout to come and look, nor use 'em for your play;
Put the brushwood back again,—and they'll be gone next day! If you meet King George's men, dressed in blue and red,
Be careful what you say, and mindful of what is said.
If they call you “pretty maid”, and chuck you 'neath the chin,
Don't you tell where no one is, nor yet where no one's been If you do as you've been told, likely there's a chance
You'll be give a dainty doll, all the way from France,
With a cap of fancy lace, and a velvet hood—
A present from the Gentlemen, along for being good! Five-and-twenty ponies, trotting through the dark—
Brandy for the Parson, 'baccy for the Clerk.
Them that asks no questions isn't told a lie—
So watch the wall, my darling, while the Gentlemen go by

Old Fool 03:01
Drinking's a fix when your down and in bits and You’ve spent all your money on wine Gin with a lime and whisky is fine So you follow the old fool round If you’ve spent half your time paying down on the fines Or living it up on the town Surrounded by signs that you’re life isn’t fine Well you follow the old fool round The old fools laughing the old fools fun The old fool drinks till the day is done The old fools dancing but he’s on the run The old fool drinks till the day is done Your up in the air not getting anywhere, chasing your tail all around You’ll go anywhere you don’t really care To follow the old fool round The old fools laughing the old fools fun The old fool drinks till the day is done The old fools dancing but he’s on the run The old fool drinks till the day is done If your drinking like me all out on a spree, never taking stock on the way You open our eyes your life far behind You are the old fool now The old fools laughing the old fools fun The old fool drinks till the day is done The old fools dancing but he’s on the run The old fool drinks till the day is done

Oh Dear Oh 03:45
As I walked out one May morning To view the fields and the leaves were springing I saw two maidens standing by And one of them had her hands a wringing O dear o, o dear o My husband's got no courage in him O dear o, o dear o My husband's got no courage in him All sorts of meats I do preserve All sorts of drinks that's fitting for him Oyster pie and rhubarb too But that don't put no courage in him O dear o, o dear o Her husband's got no courage in him O dear o, o dear o Her husband's got no courage in him My man can dance, caper and sing i’ll do anything thats fitting for him But he won’t do the thing I want Because he has no courage in him For Seven years I've made his bed And every night I've laid beside him And my hand I clap between his thighs- But that don't put no courage in him O dear o, o dear o Her husband's got no courage in him O dear o, o dear o Her husband's got no courage in him I wish to God that he was dead And in his grave I'd quickly lay him Then I'd find a nice young man That's got a bit of courage in him O dear o, o dear o Her husband's got no courage in him O dear o, o dear o Her husband's got no courage in him

Diamond Ship 03:32
The diamond is a ship my lad for the Davis straight she’s bound And the quay it is all garnished with the Bonny lasses round The captain gave the order, to sail the ocean wide Where the sun it never sets my lads nor darkness dims the sky And it’s cheer up me lads, let your hearts never fail For the Bonny ship, the diamond, goes fishing for the whale Along the quay of Peterhead the lasses stand around With their shawls all hung about them and the salt tears running down Now don’t you cry my pretty lass Though you be left behind For the rose will bloom on greenlands ice before we change our mind And it’s cheer up me lads, let your hearts never fail For the Bonny ship, the diamond, goes fishing for the whale Here’s a health to the resolution, likewise Eliza swan Here’s a health to the battler of montresand that diamond ship of fame. We wear the trousers of the white, the jackets of the blue And when we return to Peterhead we’ll have sweethearts anew And it’s cheer up me lads, let your hearts never fail For the Bonny ship, the diamond, goes fishing for the whale Oh it’ll be bright both day and night when the whaling ships come home With a ship that’s full of oil and money to our name We’ll make the cradles all to rock the blankets for the tear And every lass in Peterhead sing hushabye my dear. And it’s cheer up me lads, let your hearts never fail For the Bonny ship, the diamond, goes fishing for the whale

Here's a health to the Queen, and a lasting peace, May factions end and wealth increase. Come let's drink it while we have breath, For there's no drinking after death. And he that will this health deny, And he that will this health deny; Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men, Down among the dead men, Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men let them lie. Let charming beauty's health go round, With whom celestial joys are found, And may confusion yet pursue That senseless wimin-hating crew; ——WOOO WOOOO— In, smiling Bacchus' joys I'll roll, Deny no pleasure to my soul; Let- his health round briskly move, The God of wine and friend of Love. And he that will this health deny And he that will this health deny Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men, Down among the dead men, Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men let them lie. Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men, Down among the dead men, Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men let them lie. May love and wine their rites maintain, And their united pleasures reign, While Bacchus's treasure crowns the board, We'll sing the joys that both afford; And they that won't with us comply, Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men, Down among the dead men, Down down, down, down, Down among the dead men let them lie.

Ships may come and ships may sail, through the seas they run And a sailor lad likewise his son they love their port and rum Well a lass ashore he do a adore one that is plump and round But when your moneys all gone it’s the same old song, get up jack John sit down. When jacks ashore he makes his way, to the boarding house He’s welcomed in with rum and gin, likewise a fork and knife He’ll spend he’ll spend he’ll never offend, until he is drunk on the ground But when your moneys all gone it’s the same old song, get up jack John sit down When jack sets sail aboard some ship for India or Japan. Or in Asia there the ladies fair, they love their sailor man He’ll go ashore and he won’t scorn to buy his girl a gown But when your moneys all gone it’s the same old song, get up jack John sit down Come along, come along me jolly brave boys, there’s plenty more grog in the jar, we’ll plough we’ll roam the ocean wide, the jolly roving tar Now jacks too old and weather beat, to frail to sail about, A grog shop they’ll let him stop, until eight bells ring out He’ll throw his hands and aloud he’ll cry “thank god I’m homeward bound” But when your moneys all gone it’s the same old song, get up jack John sit down Come along, come along me jolly brave boys, there’s plenty more grog in the jar, we’ll plough we’ll roam the ocean wide, the jolly roving tar

about

Here is our 4th studio album! The majority of the songs were written and tested out on festival crowds over the last two years. The album is meant to be about all the facets of drinking - from the boisterous call to arms for a night out in 'Midnight Ranger' to the rather dark sounding tribute to the god Bacchus in the title track, then there's the dangers of drinking in 'Old Fool', a rather tongue in cheek look at the effects of being on the sauce in 'My Husbands got no Courage in Him' and then the rather melancholic demise of an old sailor being tossed out of a pub in 'Jolly Roving Tar'. Peppered with some banging instrumentals, we're rather proud of this album and hope you like it too.
